BIOGRAPHY

I'm an artist based in the Lakes. I first grew my passion for art after being obsessed with colouring in books and drawing at 8. Here, in Kirkcudbright, also known as the artists town, I was encouraged by my teachers to spend extra time on my painting and drawing. I loved this chapter of my life, and is where I knew that art was something I wanted to pursue as a career.

At 14, I moved to the Lake District with my mother and little sister. The obstacles of life challenged me in the coming adolescent years. However, I still took time to follow my passion, and in 2015 I finished a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design at Kendal College. After this, I had some problems with my mental health, and when I was better, I went on to work in care supporting disabled adults and children. I continued to read about art and work from home when possible during this time.

In the past several years, I’ve been working out of a studio in Holme, then Penrith, and now Great Strickland.

I draw my inspiration from the Lake District, Pinterest, people, and other artists. My style has somewhat drifted from realism to abstract in the last few years, and I am excited to see where it flows next. However, it is still broad, and I enjoy painting and drawing a range of subjects, and experimenting with different styles.

I am currently applying for a degree in fine art with Lancaster University, and aspire to attend the Royal Academy of Arts in the future if possible.
